SETs: Settlement Engagement and Transition Support Program at Many Coloured Sky

What is SET’s?

The SETs (Settlement Engagement and Transition Support Program) aims to build capacity and meet the settlement needs of eligible permanent migrants. It is a partnership between Many Coloured Sky and Drummond St Services, located at the Carlton office of Drummond St. The program is a dual community development and casework model, incorporating case management and a range of workshops and group activities.

It focuses on:

  • improving social participation
  • economic well-being
  • independence
  • personal well-being
  • community connectedness

How can the SET’s program support you?

SET’s have two social workers who can support you with:

  • settlement-related information; advice; advocacy; help to access mainstream and other relevant services, community connection, such as social groups or activity groups.

SET’s have two peer support workers with lived experience of settling in Australia who:

  • provide advice, mentoring, knowledge, feedback, and resources to support community members
  • can deliver group programs, and help to build social connections

Who’s eligible for the SET’s program?

Permanent visas:

  • Refugee and humanitarian entrants
  • Family and partner visas (low English proficiency)
  • Working and skilled visas (dependants only in rural and regional areas with low English proficiency)

Temporary visas:

  • Refugee and humanitarian
  • Family and partner
  • Work and skilled
