What queerspace offers
We provide counselling (including individual, relationship and family counselling), case management, individual advocacy and other support services to help you with a range of issues. queerspace also provide family education, group support programs, and can help you access LGBTIQ+ friendly healthcare options and services. We also value peer and social connections. queerspace organizes and supports regular community events and can refer you to LGBTIQ+ advocacy and community groups.

queerspace counselling
queerspace provides a non-judgemental, queer affirmative counselling service. We can help you build relationship skills, facilitate difficult conversations, explore life’s difficult decisions and improve your well-being. queerspace staff come from one of more of the LGBTIQ+ communities ourselves, we understand first-hand the importance of chosen family, supportive communities and being able to work through your difficulties with people you trust and recognize.
queerspace training and consultancy
queerspace offers professional development and training on an extensive range of topics relevant to working with the LGBTIQ+ / queer communities and their families. Our training is designed, developed and delivered through a queer lens by people from LGBTIQ+ communities. queerspace training supports best practice, and aims to builds skills in advocacy and affirmative approaches. more
queerspace youth
queerspace youth is a program for all LGBTIQ+ and questioning young people aged 18-25. queerspace youth welcome you regardless of where you are at on your journey. Our regular low-stress events emphasise the importance of having fun and building strong supportive, resilient and healthy communities. queerspace youth welcome cultural and faith diversity and also hold regular events for young queer people of colour.
Attending queerspace appointments, groups or training
queerspace is located at drummond street services, 100 Drummond street, Carlton. Access to the building is via ramp or stairs and automatically opening doors. Reception is located on the left-hand side of the foyer and includes our waiting area.
queerspace supports people with a range of needs, this is why we also provide:
- Outreach services being provided where required
- Communication aids/ interpreters are available
- Mobility accessible toilets
- Area for carers/support staff to wait
- Access for service animals/companion animals
- Supporting transport is available when required in the form of taxi vouchers
- Assistance with transport if need for community events and hire/use by community groups
- A large meeting room which is wheelchair accessible.
